No hard feelings
Friendships will be put to the test as North Melbourne comes up against former Roo Aaron Edwards for the first time.
Edwards is set to take the field in Tigersβ colours, but his housemate says there are no hard feelings following his departure from Aegis Park.
βIβm looking forward to playing against him (Edwards). Iβm sure thereβll be a bit of banter out there,β Tarrant told NMFC.com.au.
Edwards left the Kangaroos during the 2012 trade period after playing 82 games in six seasons.
βHe left on really good terms with the club. Hopefully he goes well for Richmond, except when he plays us in the second game.β
Cameron Pedersen could also line up in opposition colours against his former team, as North takes on Melbourne in game one.
βItβs been a long four or five months in the pre-season. This is what you look forward to and the best part of pre-season is probably the finish, and the start of the season proper,β Tarrant added.
While getting through unscathed is important, the key-forward says North is eager to kick-start its campaign with two wins.
βYou want to play your best footy against other oppositions, and itβs not like an intraclub where youβre not going into packs. Hopefully we have a good hit-out.
βThereβs going to be a few tired boys out there. No matter how much running you do in the pre-season, you always seem to blow up in the first ten minutes.
βWeβll just work on the structures and the things (Scotty) Brad Scott has implemented this year. β
Northβs squad of 34 will be announced on NMFC.com.au on Wednesday.
