Leigh Adams has secured his first senior coaching role since retiring earlier this season.
Adams will take charge of South Croydon Football Club’s senior side in the Eastern Football League, which finished in 10th place in 2015.
The 27-year-old played 104 games for the Roos before a series of concussions cruelly cut his career short.
After being medically retired in August, the man known as ‘Patch’ spent the remained of 2015 as a development coach, working alongside Brad Scott and his assistant coaches at Arden St.
In a statement released by South Croydon, the Bulldogs said they were “thrilled” to be welcoming Adams on board.
“Leigh is very excited to be returning to local footy within the EFL, and understands the challenges faced by community clubs such as South Croydon. The club is confident that Leigh will have the Doggies back playing an exciting brand of football in 2016,” the club said.
“Leigh brings excellent knowledge from the AFL system, having spent the second half of this year with the Roos as a development coach and also assisting with the midfield coaching at the Northern Knights TAC team.”
