A late surge from Jack Ziebell in the AFLCA coaches' votes wasn't enough to bump Daniel Wells from the top of the North Melbourne leaderboard.

Ziebell's inspirational 27 disposals and 4 goals against Collingwood on Sunday earned him eight votes, and with Wells failing to poll, it meant the final margin at the top was just one after 23 rounds.

Throughout 2013, Wells polled in 10 separate games while Ziebell registered votes in eight of his 18 appearances.

Four players earned perfect 10's during the year - Scott Thompson in Round 4, Ryan Bastinac in Round 6, Lachlan Hansen in Round 15 and Ben Cunnington in Round 18.

Coincidentally, Hansen and Brent Harvey polled in the exact same games for their first six appearances in the votes before Hansen's single in Round 21 and Harvey's one in Round 23.
