North Melbourne list changes
North Melbourne has made a further four changes to its playing list following the completion of the AFL’s Free Agency and Trade period.
Will Sierakowski, Jordan Gysberts, Ayden Kennedy and Ben Mabon have all been delisted.
Sierakowski, 23, played seven senior games after joining North via a trade with Hawthorn in 2011. He made his debut in Round 6 against Port Adelaide.
Gysberts arrived at Aegis Park at the conclusion of 2012 and was an emergency on several occasions, but didn’t play a senior game. The midfielder had played 19 matches with Melbourne.
Kennedy, selected with pick 41 in the 2009 National Draft, had an injury-interrupted start to his career. A stress fracture in his foot limited him to just four VFL games in 2010, and a knee injury kept him out for the entire 2011 season. The defender was a vital component of Werribee’s finals campaign this year.
Mabon spent three seasons at the club after being selected with pick 71 in the 2010 National Draft. He played regularly as North Ballarat’s number one ruckman in the VFL, but was unable to break into the North line-up.
North’s General Manager of List and Player Personnel Cameron Joyce wished the departing players well.
“Obviously it’s a really tough time of year when players leave the club, but we thank all of the guys for their efforts and wish them all the best for the future.”
Rookies Cameron Richardson and Ben Speight were delisted in September while Luke Delaney was traded to St Kilda in exchange for the 77th selection in the National Draft.
The Roos have committed to father-son Luke McDonald with their first pick in November’s National Draft, while Nick Dal Santo joined the club as a restricted free agent from St Kilda.
