Yet another North young gun has committed to the club's bright future with Jamie Macmillan the latest to extend his contract.

Last week the Roos announced new contracts for Daniel Wells (2016), Jack Ziebell (2016), Shaun Atley (2015) and coach Brad Scott (2016).
Macmillan's new deal takes him home through to the end of 2015.

‘‘We’re all pretty close and it’s hard to explain, but I think we all have a good feeling about where we’re going and we have absolute confidence in Brad, especially now he’s got on board with a new contract,’’ he told The Age's Emma Quayle.

‘‘Everyone’s loving life and you ask yourself, why wouldn’t I re-sign? I couldn’t come up with a reason not to so I’m really glad it’s done.’’

The 20-year old played every game last year and is aiming to become more flexible and diverse in 2013.

‘‘One of the things I really want to do is be a versatile player, but not just play bit parts. Everyone wants to be consistent and from week to week I want to play my role but also start to have a bigger impact in different parts of the ground.

‘‘Last year was all about learning my role and feeling like I could play it, but this year I’m hoping to take it a bit further and do a little bit extra and have a bigger say in games,’’ he said.

‘‘Last year was about laying some groundwork and learning the basics of the game, and that’s given me some confidence. I’m the kind of guy who never really feels settled, but from day one of pre-season I’ve had some really clear goals about what I wanted to do and how I wanted to improve.’’
