Melbourne defender Colin Garland is considered unlikely to play on Saturday due to an ankle injury.

“Col injured his ankle during the third quarter (against Brisbane) and he took no further part in the game,” acting general manager of football operations Josh Mahoney told the club's website.

“Scans on Monday showed no significant damage to his ankle however he would still be unlikely to play this weekend.

“He will be assessed during the week.”

Garland has been one of the Demons' most consistent performers during 2013, and would be a big loss for Neil Craig's team.
