Ryan Bastinac is confident North’s current crop of youngsters are on a path to success.

The skilful midfielder signalled his commitment to the club last year by penning a new contract, and says the recent re-signings of several team-mates provide reason for excitement.

“We’ve gone bang, bang, bang with a few of the boys. It’s great to see a few of the guys re-signing,” Bastinac told NMFC.com.au.

“I think we’ve got a few more that we can hopefully sign up soon which is good. It’s great for the footy club everyone staying together.

“We want to build a team that will take us to the next premiership.”

Bastinac has played 57 games during his three seasons at the club and says the opportunity to play regular senior football alongside other emerging players like Ben Cunnington, Shaun Atley and Jack Ziebell has been vital.

“We’ve (the players) become really tight over the last few years. Everyone feels so comfortable around each other.

“That’s what you want around a footy club - having fun, and when you are out on the track working as hard as you can. There’s a great culture at the club.”

Coach Brad Scott was another to extend his contract at Aegis Park recently, a sign he has great faith in his playing group.

“Brad’s been great since day one,” Bastinac added.

“The longer we can have him at the club the better we are going to be.

“We’re trying to implement everything he’s teaching us, and what he’s got planned is great. If we can do it as well as we know we can, we are going to be a great side.”

In the past fortnight, Scott, Ziebell and Daniel Wells signed on until the end of 2016, while Atley and Macmillan committed until the end of 2015.
