How much can you read into Round 1 form? That’s the question Brad Scott and his match committee will have to ponder when selecting this week’s squad of 25.

Scott said it wasn’t an inability to find the footy, but ‘poor ball use’ that lost North the game against Collingwood on Sunday.

With that in mind, will the Kangaroos’ opt for stability or will early wholesale changes be made in a bid to find the right mix?

NMFC.com.au looks at those in line for a call-up:

Scott McMahon – The defender is a certain starter for the game against Geelong and North definitely missed him last weekend.

Taylor Hine – The Gold Coast recruit continued his good form after his impressive hit-out against Hawthorn a fortnight ago, and could further bolster North’s defensive stocks.

Levi Greenwood – 27 touches and 11 marks saw a return to his best. He has played most of the pre-season as a forward, but given Geelong’s big bodies, he could also add some grunt in the middle.

Majak Daw and Aaron Black – Daw had a big impact for the Tigers rucking well with Daniel Currie and also kicking two goals.  Black was solid during the NAB Cup, and further opportunities beckon. He hasn’t played since the practice match against Hawthorn, so he’ll have to convince the coaches he’s right to go.

Daniel Currie – The good form of Goldstein will make it more difficult for Currie, but his pre-season form can’t be ignored.

Jordan Gysberts – The former Demon was a regular fixture during the pre-season and took the opportunity to get some more game-time at the lower level.

Will Sierakowski – The raking left-footer has been on the verge of a debut for some time and edged a step closer as the game-day emergency against the Magpies. He could provide the defensive drive North lacked in the second half.

Brad McKenzie – He sat out on the weekend due to a bye for the Roosters’ but will be expected to prove himself at VFL level.
