Robbie Tarrant held back for another week
For the second consecutive week, key forward Robbie Tarrant has been unable to get through main training.
Although the final team for the clash against Hawthorn isn’t released until Friday afternoon, Brad Scott and the match committee have already put a line through Tarrant.
Scott had been adamant Tarrant would have to be able to train at full capacity in order to make his way back into the side.
It’s not the ideal birthday present for the 24-year-old, but North’s medical staff believe resting his leg injury will enable him to overcome it quicker and return stronger. Tarrant went through a series of tests on Thursday morning and was restricted to stationary skills and some work on the exercise bike at Aegis Park.
Tarrant has kicked five goals from three games so far this year and was replaced in the Kangaroos’ team by Majak Daw last week.
Daw looks to have fully recovered from his head-knock with Ben Cunnington at Etihad Stadium last weekend and trained strongly. The 22-year-old made headlines with his 18-minute debut and is likely to run out onto the MCG for the first time on Sunday.
