North Melbourne pair Daniel Wells and Jack Ziebell are expected to be available for the club’s NAB Cup campaign, which gets underway on February 22.

Wells carried an achilles injury through the latter stages of 2012, but is making his way back to full fitness at the perfect time.

“Wellsy’s coming along really well,” Director of Medical Services Steve Saunders told NMFC.com.au.

“He’s had a chronic tendinopathy and those things can take a little bit of time.

“We are really happy now that he’s doing high-end agility and dynamic work and training with the team, and we are happy with the volume he’s getting done, so he’s tracking well.

"Whether he plays all games (in the NAB Cup) or two or three of them will just depends on how he's tracking at the time."

The progress of Ziebell has also been pleasing, despite the midfielder being restricted to running during Wednesday’s training session.

“Jack’s tracking really well,” Saunders added.

“He’s now three weeks post a little tidy-up of his knee. He’s back running really nicely and will progress into skills and game sense type training next week so we’re happy with his progress and he should be right for the NAB Cup.”

Leigh Adams has signalled his intentions of a pre-season return, and Saunders is happy to back in the 25-year old.

“Patch (Adams) is doing great. He underwent surgery for both shoulders in the off-season. Both shoulders have progressed really well, his strength levels have all normalised.

“We are happy with his progression in the contact at the moment, so he’ll be right for the NAB Cup as well.”
