Sitting at 1-4 after five rounds, North faces an undefeated Port Adelaide side at Blundstone Arena on Saturday.
“Our methods have been really good,” Swallow told the media after training on Friday.
“We’ve just got to make sure we’re consistent for the four quarters and that’s probably been the biggest thing across the five rounds so far.”
The brilliant midfielder says spirits are high amongst the playing group, despite the Kangaroos’ poor win-loss record.
“The boys are still pretty vibrant. It’s been disappointing to lose a couple of close ones when we were right in the game but we know the reasons for it and we’ve got to try and continue to put a four quarter performance out there.”
Saturday will be the last AFL game at Blundstone Arena for about 15 months, and Swallow says he and his team-mates are desperate to get the result for the Hobart fans.
“We’ve had pretty much a full stadium for the first three games so we’re excited about playing here. We want to be a really hard team to beat down here.”
North has won one of the three games held since the Hobart partnership commenced, defeating Greater Western Sydney but losing to both West Coast and Sydney.
In each of the first three encounters, wind was not a factor. That couldn’t be said on arrival in Hobart on Friday, with winds of more than 100 kilometres per hour.
“We’re fairly comfortable with the ground but we haven’t had a lot of wind down here (previously),” Swallow added
“So we’ll wait and see what they’re (the conditions) like tomorrow and then we might have to adapt slightly.”
Coming up against a red-hot Power outfit, Swallow is under no illusions as to the effort it will take to win.
“Port has been super impressive. The way they’ve been playing, it’s going to be a tough game.
“They’ve got a few guys in from other clubs and a couple of young guys who have come into their side and given them some run and dash.
“Some of their players have got back to some amazing form so we’re really looking forward to the game. It’s going to be challenging but down here we’ll be looking forward to it.”
With an array of attacking options at their disposal, the Power caused plenty of problems for opposition sides in recent weeks.
“We’ve got to shut down some of their outlets. Their half-forwards like to push up the ground and they really like to switch the ball.
“We’ve had five pretty tough games so far so we’re getting used to having good opposition week in, week out.”
