Collingwood is not the only challenge facing North Melbourne in the coming days with the club on the verge of signing its 30,000th member and closing in on its 2013 goal of 35,000.

“It’s expected that we’ll have 30,000 members by early next week which is great,” North CEO Carl Dilena told NMFC.com.au.

“That now puts the spotlight firmly on 35,000 and I believe we will get there.”

A win against Collingwood will help the figure tick over steadily, but Dilena says there’s more than just on-field wins to be proud of and use as reasons to sign up.

“I think our supporters know we’re on the right path and our future is exciting.  While we have a great young list and a brilliant coach in Brad Scott, the business side of things is also extremely pleasing and encouraging.  More and more people are signing up for the long-term because they want to be a part of things to come, it’s not a year by year decision for them anymore.”

The Roos have about 1,000 more members than at the same time last year, but there are 8,600 unrenewed members still out there.

“It’s important for us to get to those people and re-sign them, but to also find new supporters who want to be a part of North Melbourne,” Dilena added.

“The response to our Target 10,000 campaign has been great, but we need more North people to help us find and identify new members.”

North is also pushing for more people to sign on to the automatic renewal membership ‘Troo Roo For Life’.   Members joining the program receive a discount on their membership in their first year ($10 Adult, $5 Junior, $20 Family).
