There seems to be big breaking news most days this off season at North Melbourne, as the club does everything in its power to go from strength to strength and show the football world and its supporters it’s on the right path.

After Aaron Mullett capped an outstanding season by finishing fourth in the Rising Star award, fans have been treated to significant re-signings, accolades and big contract news….and there’s more to come.

Watson moves from defensive coach to forward coach to fill the vacancy left by Brett Allison’s departure.

September 19: Aaron Black re-signs until the end of 2017
September 23: Michael Firrito re-signs for 2014
September 28: 3,600 attend the Blackwoods North Melbourne Grand Final Breakfast
October 4: Interest confirmed in Nick Dal Santo

October 7: Luke McDonald selected with pick 8 in father-son bidding meeting

It’s the highest ever selection under the father-son rule, but well worth the price for a top-five talent in 2013’s draft pool.

October 7: Ben Cunnington re-signs until the end of 2017
October 7: Lindsay Thomas re-signs until the end of 2016

October 7: Daniel Wells and Scott Thompson win the 2013 Syd Barker Medal

Wells wins his second medal, while Thompson takes the club’s top honour for the first time.

October 7: John Donehue appointed as tackling coach for 2014
October 7: Ben Dyer appointed as development coach for 2014
October 8: Daniel Wells and Lindsay Thomas selected in 2013 International Rules Squad

October 8: Geoff Walsh appointed as new director of football

At North from 1994 to 2006, Walsh returns after seven years with Collingwood.

October 8: John Lamont named coach of Werribee
October 9: Cameron Ling appointed to work with leadership group in 2014
October 9: New partnership announced with Victorian Responsible Gambling

October 10: Leigh Tudor confirmed as senior assistant coach

The announcement had been made by Brad Scott three days earlier at the Syd Barker Medal.
