North Melbourne has opted to go tall for Sunday’s clash against the Suns with Scott Thompson into the side at the expense of Robin Nahas.

Thompson missed last week’s match due to suspension and will be a welcome return for Brad Scott’s team in defence.

But the omission of Nahas comes at somewhat of a surprise, with North already boasting Nathan Grima and Joel Tippett in key defensive posts.

For Tippett, it’s a reward for his hard work. The mature-age recruit was solid as a rock in the back six and will line up for his second game in the royal blue and white.

The recall of Charlie Dixon and Trent Nicholls may have prompted the Kangaroos’ decision go tall, with the Suns also boasting Tom Lynch and Sam Day as dangerous attacking options.

Guy McKenna has also recalled midfielder Harley Bennell, with Matthew Warnock, Jack Hutchins and Timmy Sumner all omitted.

Nahas has been named as an emergency alongside Ben Jacobs and Sam Wright.
