In The Mix: Round 6
There has already been one change with Majak Daw's spot against Fremantle announced.
Have your say on any potential changes in the comments below.
#4: Liam Anthony
The reason: Hard-running midfielders become even more valuable on the wide expanses of Patersons Stadium. Anthony's ability to collect high disposal numbers could be a useful trait for a side which has been heavily out-possessed in its two losses.
The challenge: Anthony had a quieter outing than usual for North Ballarat in its loss against Sandringham. The match committee could prefer to wait until the ball-winner is in peak form before bringing him into the side.
#7: Jack Ziebell
The reason: Without Swallow and Ziebell, a lot of the midfield grunt work falls to Ben Cunnington. The return of the vice-captain would give Cunnington more freedom while also giving the rest of the team a spark to see an influential leader back on the park.
The challenge: If Ziebell's shoulder continues its slow rate of recovery, there are nine days between the Fremantle and Gold Coast matches, with a bye then following that. The conservative route could be appealing.
#28: Robin Nahas
The reason: The unlucky man out as a consequence of the three-tall setup, Nahas was an emergency for the game against Collingwood and would most likely be one of the first cabs off the rank if an extra small is needed in the first half.
The challenge: With Daw already a starter for Friday, multiple changes to the forward structure against a quality defensive side in Fremantle could lead to a disjointed performance.
#32: Mason Wood
The reason: Playing as a roaming key forward, Aaron Black has had success at Patersons Stadium. Wood could potentially play a similar role, working high up the field before pushing back hard to provide a threat around goals.
The challenge: A minor illness has interrupted Wood's preparation during the week, meaning a debut is unlikely.
#36: Joel Tippett
The reason: With Scott Thompson suspended for a week, Tippett is the most likely replacement for the All-Australian full-back. He's also in good form, having kept Tom Lee goalless for North Ballarat on the weekend.
The challenge: Fremantle doesn't tend to stretch opposition forward lines for height. The match committee could be content to play Nathan Grima, Michael Firrito and Lachlan Hansen as the three key defenders.
#42: Scott McMahon
The reason: Stringing together a couple of good defensive performances for Werribee, McMahon has responded well to his demotion after Round 1.
His latest game for Werribee saw the defender come in for praise from senior development coach Gavin Brown; the former Magpie calling McMahon's use of the ball 'excellent'.
The challenge: If McMahon does come into the side, he'll have to deal with one of Fremantle's pacy small forwards - perhaps a matchup best suited to the likes of Shaun Atley and co.
