What started out as a mysterious image that had everyone talking, #OURICON has become inscribed in North’s history as the centrepiece of the club’s first Indigenous guernsey.   

The guernsey relays the story of ‘everyone - the supporters and the players coming together at the North Melbourne Footy Club’, according to its artist Sarrita King.

It will be worn by the players on Sunday night against the Eagles, as all 18 clubs celebrate Indigenous Round.

While Lindsay Thomas will have the opportunity to don the guernsey at Patersons Stadium, Daniel Wells will miss through injury. It won’t take anything away from the significance of the event though, with the pair having helped in the delicate design process.

The Roo Shop has welcomed unprecedented interest in sales for the Indigenous guernsey, with the release of the players’ match-worn* jumpers sure to create further excitement.

Fans have the opportunity to bid on the Round 11 guernseys via an online auction.

Bidding ends on Thursday June 5 at 5pm EST.
