North Melbourne's bid to play three games in Hobart from 2015 has received a massive boost with TT-Line, the owner and operator of Spirit of Tasmania, committing to the proposal.

CEO Carl Dilena has welcomed TT-Line's continued support of North Melbourne in Tasmania.

"We have a strong and close working relationship with Spirit of Tasmania and TT-Line and are delighted at the prospect of an expanded games partnership which will take us through to the end of 2016," Dilena said.

With the TT-Line Board now signing off on supporting the Roos for three games a year at Blundstone Arena, Dilena says it's a huge step in the right direction.

"The support we've received from TT-Line to date has been remarkable and together, we have been able to achieve a great deal already in Tasmania.  We are excited at the opportunity to build on this partnership over the next two years. We will continue to actively work with the remaining stakeholders to ensure we can convert this opportunity into reality."

TT-Line Acting Chief Executive Officer Stuart McCall said he looked forward to seeing more of North Melbourne and AFL in the southern state.

"Supporting AFL football in Tasmania has positively impacted on local businesses across a broad range of areas including accommodation, hotels, restaurants and tour and transport operators," he said.

"Importantly, our partnership with the North Melbourne Football Club has delivered Spirit of Tasmania with significant brand recognition in our key markets."
