The final margin was just four points, but on a forgettable night for North Melbourne, there were few standout players.

Out of the 30 votes awarded by Justin Leppitsch and Brad Scott, just three went the Kangaroos’ way. Andrew Swallow was handed all three.

For the North captain, it was a welcome return to form and arguably his best game since returning to the team in Round 9.

Swallow finished with 23 disposals and 2 goals, but it was the nature of his possessions that was most pleasing; crashing the packs and getting the ball out of the contest reminiscent of his best.

He finished with 9 tackles; his equal-best tally of the year so far, registered 6 clearances and pumped the ball inside 50 on 7 occasions.

The number 9 also booted a true captain’s goal out of the centre early in the last term, providing his team with some much needed momentum.

On a night where most Kangaroos struggled, Swallow excelled.
