Rhyce Shaw couldn’t be prouder of Robbie Tarrant and Jasper Pittard, as they prepare to celebrate significant milestones.
Tarrant will play his 150th game in the royal blue and white, while Pittard hits the same mark, after eight seasons at Port Adelaide and two at Arden Street.
“He’s had his challenges early on his career, specifically with injury, and he’s turned into one of the great defenders in our competition,” Shaw said of Tarrant.
“He is a fantastic leader. He leads by example every single day. He doesn’t take a day off.
“I’m really proud of him to get to this point.”
North’s number 25 has enjoyed a brilliant rise to prominence, after injuries cruelled his first few years in the system.
His 50-game milestone took almost eight seasons, while his next 100 games has taken less than five.
“Having only known him for a couple of years, I can understand his commitment to our footy club and what it means to him,” Shaw added.
“To get to 150, it’s a great effort.”
While Pittard has only played 23 games in North colours, he’s had an outstanding impact in quick time.
“He came across a couple of years ago and has just gone to a new level, in terms of not only his footy, but as a person he’s grown,” Shaw said.
“To be voted into the leadership group this year by our players, is a great effort and a real credit to him.
“I couldn’t be more proud of him. It’s a great milestone.”
Pittard established himself as a regular in the Roos’ 22 in 2019, playing every game.
