He only returned to Arden Street on Monday, but Jed Anderson has declared himself ready to play in Round 2.
The courageous on-baller has been working hard to maintain his fitness away from the club, due to the arrival of his new daughter, Katerinah.
Anderson, wife Nicky and sons Elijah and Jasiah spent the isolation period with family in Darwin.
“I’m throwing my hand up to play and I want to play. The body feels good and I’m ready,” he told North Media.
“I’ll have a good session on Thursday with all the boys and see how we go.”
Anderson faced a test of sorts on Sunday; put through his paces by coach Rhyce Shaw and Strength & Conditioning Coach Jona Segal.
“I had a session yesterday and it went really well,” he explained.
“I think he (Shaw) was just seeing how the body is holding up and how I performed out there, and how all the skills and metabolic training is with the up-and-down sprint efforts.
“I think he was pretty happy speaking to Jona (Segal) and the GPS looked good.”
Known for his unrelenting approach to both games and training, Anderson is champing at the bit to get back with the full group.
“I can’t wait to get back into some contact on Thursday,” he added.
“I might smack around Jy (Simpkin) and Cunners’ (Ben Cunnington) a little bit. I think they’ve been getting away with a bit of easy ball, so get back in there, try not to hurt anyone, but itching to get back.”
