It’s been 57 days since North Melbourne defeated St Kilda, but Rhyce Shaw will be doing everything in his power to remind his players of that memorable day.
29 points down at half-time, the Roos fought back to record a famous two-point victory, and even without a crowd, and so much uncertainty at the time, emotions were high.
Look back at Shaw’s speeches from that very week, and his messaging was eerily similar to right now.
“We’re not adapting to cope in this situation, we’re adapting to win,” he told The Herald Sun.
Of course, no one really knew how long the game’s hiatus would be, but for Shaw, his team's focus, and ultimate goal, hasn’t wavered one bit.
“We had a really good start to the season, even though that start to the season was a very long time ago. But we’ve got four points on the board, and we want to make the most of that in whatever form the competition heads into,” he said.
“At the end of the day there’s a premiership there to be won, and I want to win.
“That’s my No.1 priority in terms of our team and our club.”
