#GivingTuesdayNOW, Ovation Across the Nation, is a time to come together to make a positive impact in our communities.
Whether that be by donating, giving thanks, an act of kindness or volunteering - it's all about unity.
"I'd like to say thank you to all those people who continue to work tirelessly, on reduced or no pay (during the pandemic)," North defender Ed Vickers-Willis said.
"Be they baristas, community workers, small business owners, or staff at the North Melbourne Footy Club, I think it's important now more than ever that we say thank you to them for their efforts.
"For them to be working just out of the passion for their job, or love for supporting others, is nothing short of awesome."
Giving is a value The Huddle holds dear; for more than 10 years, North Melbourne's community's arm has been supporting local families and communities from refugee and migrant backgrounds, and empowering young people to learn, grow and belong through the power of sport.
In 2019, 189 volunteers contributed more than 2,750 hours to The Huddle.
Since COVID-19 restrictions have been enforced, The Huddle cannot continue to deliver its programs to young people in person in recreation centres, schools and the Huddle facilities.
The Huddle has responded quickly to ensure the continued support for local families, including improved online support tools and delivering more than 100 holiday survival kits to families containing workbooks and sports equipment. .
All education and career readiness programs are now available online, including daily study support for young people aged 12 to 25 years, and active challenges hosted by AFL games record holder, Brent “Boomer” Harvey.
The Huddle is providing immediate help to families to access food, government financial support and access to the most up to date health information to protect families and communities, which includes one-on-one support and translation.
But we need your help; every little bit counts and we can't thank you enough for supporting us, and in our commnity - CLICK HERE TO DONATE.
