Brent Harvey has given the strongest indication yet that he wants to play on in 2016.
Speaking to the Herald Sun’s Glenn McFarlane in the one-off ‘Boomer 400’ jumper, Harvey said he would talk to coach Brad Scott about the prospect of next season.

“While my body and my mind are both really, really sound, I am happy to put my hand up to go around again, as long as Brad gives me the go-ahead,” Harvey said.
“Unless something changes pretty drastically with my body, or I fall out of love with the game, which I can't see happening, I would love to play on again next year.
“I will sit down with Brad in the next few weeks and see what he is thinking.”
Harvey said he was thoroughly impressed with the new-look jumper, which all North players will wear in his 400th clash, which, if he plays every game, will take place against Brisbane in Round 17.
"This is unique, I have never seen something like this before, in terms of a jumper. It is pretty subtle,” the number 29 said.
“From a distance you won't know what it is until you get up close and look at it. From a distance, it is still a very traditional North Melbourne jumper and when you get closer you think ‘that's a bit different’.”
The 37-year-old said his thinking on playing on wasn’t about breaking records, with Michael Tuck’s 426 game record looming if Harvey was to play on in 2016.
“I'm certainly not hanging around to break Michael Tuck's record. That's the furthest thing from my mind now. If it happens, it happens,” he said.
“But I play on for one reason now and that's to win another premiership.”
Harvey was part of the club’s flag success in 1999 and said he may have taken the win for granted at the time and had a strong desire to taste premiership glory again.
"I was lucky enough to play in a flag in 1999 when I was 21. I was naive and thought that I would end up being a three or four-time premiership player.
“Having achieved the pinnacle in football once before, I would love to share it with Drew Petrie, Andrew Swallow, Jack Ziebell, Ben Cunnington and those types of players. The group has worked so hard over the last three to four years and I'd love to have more success because that's what we play for.”
Harvey also said he didn’t expect any other modern day player to reach the milestone again, with Dustin Fletcher joining Kevin Bartlett and Tuck in the ‘400 club’ this year.
“In my mind right now, I think I will be the last player to ever play 400 games.
“I am not saying that to sound big-headed or anything like that but it is just the way the game is going now. If I had started 10 years after I did, there is no way known I would have got to 400 games either.”
