North Managing Director & CEO Carl Dilena has paid tribute to outgoing AFL Tasmania CEO Scott Wade.
Wade announced his resignation on Wednesday, after 16 years in the position.
Dilena said Wade had been a pleasure to work with, particularly in his support of the Roos bringing games to the Apple Isle.
“Scott was a passionate supporter of North Melbourne playing games in Hobart,” Dilena said.
“He also worked closely with us in expanding our football and community programs in Tasmania. We will miss his drive and enthusiasm but wish him all the best for the future.”
After taking the top job in 1999, Wade said now was the right time to move on.
“I am enormously proud of our achievements over the past 16 years. The most significant being the change in the governance structure of AFL Tasmania,” Mr Wade said.
“I have had the honour of working with so many passionate and loyal football stakeholders and staff over the years and I want to thank them for the commitment to developing football in Tasmania.
“Moving forward I have every confidence that the AFL’s investment and support for football in Tasmania will ensure our game continues to grow and prosper.”
The AFL will now begin a search for a new AFL Tasmania CEO.
