Ben Brown and Shaun Higgins have been recognised for their outstanding individual seasons, named in the initial 2018 Virgin Australia All Australian squad of 40.

Key-forward Brown has developed into one of the most dangerous key-forwards in the league over the past two seasons, and finished second to Richmond’s Jack Riewoldt in the race for the Coleman Medal, kicking 61 goals.

Brown was kept goalless on just three occasions in 2018, and kicked hauls of four or more goals in 10 games.

Higgins has thrived in a midfield role in 2018, and his brilliance was one of the main reasons for the Kangaroos’ resurgence.

The classy on-baller has set career-bests across the board, and is now recognised as one of the league’s best in his position.

If named in the final 22, Brown and Higgins could become North Melbourne’s first All Australian’s since Todd Goldstein in 2015.
