Taylor Garner was selected for his first match of the season against Hawthorn, but his night ended early with a hamstring in the third quarter. He'd had a good game to that point, notching up 25 fantasy points, but will now miss the start of the season.
Northβs first-round selection at the 2012 Draft has talent to boot, but has been unlucky with injuries in his short career. He played two senior games in 2013 and showed some promise in the final round of the season with 65 fantasy points. He was also a valuable player at the U18 Championships in 2012 as a dangerous, creative forward.
Garner looked to be an excellent value selection in AFL Fantasy Classic this year, priced at $135,500, but should be taken out of your side. Add him to your watchlist for when he recovers - he will likely play when fit and could be a valuable cash cow and downgrade target.
