He’s only been at North Melbourne for one season, but Jasper Pittard has clearly made an impression.
The former Port Power defender played all 22 games in 2019, and more recently was added to the leadership group at Arden Street.
“He’s one out of the box, Jasper,” North coach Rhyce Shaw said on SEN Breakfast.
“He puts his heart and soul into everything. He’s a different cat, he sees things a bit different, but when it comes down to it he’s a really impressive young man.”
Pittard was one of four new faces named among the club’s leaders for 2020, joining Jy Simpkin, Trent Dumont and Ben Cunnington.
“He (Pittard) leads very well and I think the guys saw that over the last 12 months. He’s someone they want to follow,” Shaw said.
“I’ve been really impressed with the way he’s gone about his footy and he’s taking anther step in that regard this pre-season.
“It’s a real credit to him to find himself in the leadership group and I know he’ll add a lot of really good opinions and great leadership to that group.”
