The games record-holder’s elite standards and experience helping guide North’s draftees through their first pre-season.
“It’s really special working closely with ‘Boom’,” Charlie Comben told North Media.
“Growing up and watching him on TV as the record games-holder … it’s unreal.
“The wealth of knowledge he has and is able to pass on … even off-field stuff, it’s been amazing to work with him.”
Harvey has taken on an increased coaching role in 2020, and is setting the tone for how to prepare for life as an AFL footballer.
The 41-year-old, and Head of Development Gavin Brown there every step of the way as draftees Comben, Jack Mahony and Matt McGuinness were put through an intense boxing session over the weekend.
“It was pretty hard. We went to the Northside Gym in Preston and trained with one of Boomer’s mates,” Comben said.
“He trained us hard. We are going to keep building on that and probably head back there, but Boomer’s reputation (for training hard), he lives up to it.”
