Backing back with the flight of the ball, McDonald threw himself in front of West Coast key forward Josh Kennedy and braced for the collision.
Despite being on the receiving end of a heavy hit, the left-footer was able to get almost straight back up, grit his teeth and play his role in an important Kangaroos’ win.

It was the moment that changed the course of the Elimination Final. With Essendon seemingly about to stream into an open goal with numbers, Jobe Watson was a second away from marking on the half-forward line.
Out of nowhere, Wright appeared. Reading the flight of the ball perfectly, the North defender cut in front of the Essendon captain, marked and set North forward to begin a rapid fire succession of goals.

Goldstein’s match-saving mark in the semi-final victory became an instant classic for North fans.
The ruckman stood tall in the defensive 50 against a rampaging Cats’ forward line, taking a strong contested mark to drag the Kangaroos through to the preliminary final.

Michael Firrito’s displeasure with the umpires against the Giants earned the defender the most attention he’d had in a long time.
After conceding a free kick close to goal, some Firrito backchat made the goal a formality, after he conceded a 50 metre penalty. The veteran was confused as to just what he did though, and when he found out he uttered three words which were perfectly picked up on camera.
