With 60 goals in each of the past three seasons, Ben Brown is certainly pulling his weight when it comes to hitting the scoreboard.
But the North Melbourne star isn’t worried about individual accolades, or a Coleman Medal; his focus is all about team success.
"Whether I am kicking more goals or other guys are kicking more goals or I'm the one dishing out the goal assists, I'd love to see us push up the ladder and that means we're probably going to need to find more goals in some sense," Brown told The Age.
With several new additions to the coaching staff and playing group, it’s somewhat of a new era at Arden Street.
But the club already boasts plenty of top-line talent to complement the new faces, with the likes of Ben Cunnington, Shaun Higgins, Todd Goldstein, and Brown himself among the standouts in the pre-season.
North’s number 50 confident 2020 will be a year to excite the fans.
“We’re really aiming to push and play finals this year. It’s been a few years,” Brown said.
“Once we start pushing up the ladder, I think it will be positive for us.”
The key-forward has been a regular on the track, something that hasn’t always been the case.
“It’s one of the first pre-seasons I’ve done without some off-season surgery,” Brown told added.
“It’s actually really exciting to be out there.”
