North faces St Kilda in what might be the most important match of the season so far for both sides, and its bound to see a number of interesting fantasy developments as well.
This is a match crucial for the finals hopes of both sides but it’s also the record-breaker for a fantasy legend, Brent Harvey, who will officially move to outright top of the table for most VFL/AFL games played.
We talked a little here last week about some of Boomer’s biggest fantasy achievements – the fact that he has scored more fantasy points across his career than any other player in the game, and his twelve straight years of averaging 80 points or better.
While he has never quite had the best fantasy average in any given year, one would have to think that his sheer longevity of value over his career puts him in the conversation as one of the best fantasy players ever to hit the game.
North has one inclusion for the week and that is Jarrad Waite. He started the season on fire but has struggled with a hip injury in recent months.
Fingers crossed that he is good to go now and will be back to his early season form – we’ll be keeping an eye on him, certainly.
Daniel Wells was in ripping form last week despite some concerns during the pre-game warm-up. Remarkably despite spending much of the past two years injured he’s been in career-best form when fit in 2016. Here’s hoping it continues.
The last two players on our watch list will be young guns Ryan Clarke and Trent Dumont – Clarke earning a Rising Star nomination last week, and Dumont still eligible for one in the last five rounds of the year.
