The club’s medical staff opted to give the 22-year-old a week off to allow him time to recover and have indicated he should be ready to come back in Round 3.
Werribee could be bolstered by the return of Ben Speight after the speedy midfielder injured his ankle in the opening round and was placed in a moon boot. Speight has recovered well enough to be a chance to play against Collingwood.
Ben Mabon is also expected to return to the VFL after illness prevented him from taking to the field for North Ballarat on Saturday. The developing ruckman will line up against the Casey Scorpions.
Meanwhile Eric Wallace is still 3-4 weeks away after a minor knee operation.
