North Melbourne's newest draftees have arrived in Tasmania for a training camp held by club champion and local hero, Brady Rawlings.

Day one of the camp took the group to Port Arthur, the historic former convict settlement on the Tasmanian Peninsular. The players along with Rawlings and senior coach Brad Scott were taken on a guided tour of the site before they ran a football clinic for North Melbourne supporters in the area.

New draftee Brad McKenzie said it was fantastic to receive such a warm welcome from the Kangaroos supporters.

"All the kids and families were really friendly and very excited to have us in their home state. It's looking very good for the future to have such passionate Kangaroos supporters in Tassie."

With a hard week of training ahead, McKenzie is looking forward to the challenges and to also get amongst the loyal North Melbourne fans.

"It's good to get out of our usual environment for a few days to train down here in Hobart. And most of all we're really looking forward to seeing the North Melbourne supporters come out to watch."
