Lindsay Thomas has made a habit of kicking impossible goals in recent years, and Friday night’s effort was no exception.

During the third quarter of the clash against Geelong, the small-forward swooped on a loose ball deep in the forward pocket, under pressure from Jed Bews before dribbling a brilliant goal.

“Thomas, at right angles… I think he’s snapped it through for a goal,” was the call from an excited Dennis Cometti as the number 12 slotted his third major and kept his side within striking distance.

The goal brought about a hush from the pro-Geelong crowd, but would have had Kangaroos’ fans out of their seats in their lounge-rooms.

While Thomas’ work was met with delight from the North faithful, he was overlooked for a nomination in the AFL Goal of the Year.
