Veteran North Melbourne key-forward Jarrad Waite has announced his impending retirement from AFL football. 

One of the most exciting players in the competition on his day, Waite has left fans of Carlton, North Melbourne, and the game in general with some cherished footballing memories.

2001

- Drafted with pick #46 by Carlton, under father-son selection rule.

2003

- Makes debut for the Blues in Round 1, kicking 2 goals.

- Plays in 20 games for the season, kicking 11 goals.

- Nominated for Rising Star in Round 10, as he has 21 disposals and kicks 2 goals. 

2004

- Injuries restrict Waite to just nine games. 

2005

- Outlines his potential as of the most exciting young forwards in the game, kicking 36 goals, second only to Brendan Fevola at the Blues.

- Plays 50th game in Round 22.

- Selected in International Rules Squad to represent Australia. 

2006

- Kicks 18 goals in 13 games.

2007

- Promoted to the Carlton leadership group, and is used as a centre-half back for the early stages of the season.

- Returns to the attack, and finishes with 28 goals from 22 games.

- Finishes third in the Blues’ Best & Fairest.

2008

- With new recruits such as Chris Judd joining, Waite returns to the back-line, where he excels.

- Earns three Brownlow votes with a 26-disposal, 13-mark effort against Collingwood.

- Plays 100th game in Round 16.

2009

- Plays just nine games after suffering an ACL tear in Round 9. 

2010

- Plays 16 games and kicks 36 goals as he helps Carlton reach the finals.

2011

- Waite starts the season on fire, but injuries let him down again, as he plays just 12 games. 

2012

- Plays 150th game in Round 19.

- Kicks 27 goals in just 11 games.

2013

- Kicks 27 goals in 14 games

- Equal career-high 7 goals and three Brownlow votes in the Round 11 against Essendon.

- Helps the Blues reach the Semi Final, kicking 4 goals in the Elimination Final win over the Tigers. 

2014

- Plays 16 games, and kicks 29 goals.

- Joins North Melbourne via free agency in the Trade Period. 

2015

- Excels in his first season in the royal blue & white, playing a career-high 23 games and kicking a career-high 42 goals.

- Kicks 7 goals and polls 3 Brownlow votes in just second game for the club.

- Plays 200th game in Round 18.

- Helps North reach the Preliminary Final for the first time in his career.

2016

- Starts the season in brilliant form, polling 8 Brownlow votes by Round 6 as North start the season 9-0.

- 14 games for the season, with injury ending his year prematurely

2017

- An injury in Round 1 sees Waite miss six weeks.

- Returns with one of the finest games of his career, as North demolish the previously undefeated Adelaide, with Waite kicking 6 goals and having 22 disposals.

2018

- Plays the first 10 games of the season, helping the Roos to an unexpected 6-4 start.

- Dominates in the Good Friday clash with the Saints, having 24 disposals and 13 marks.

- Waite announces his retirement from AFL football prior to the Round 23 clash with St Kilda.
