Taylor Garner was set for a promising second year at Arden Street before a hamstring injury cruelled his progress.
Backing up from two senior appearances late in 2013, the number 27 had a good pre-season and was selected for North’s NAB Challenge match against Hawthorn at Aurora Stadium.
It was there where disaster struck, Garner injuring his hamstring tendon. While the diagnosis was originally for a few weeks on the sidelines, the youngster struggled to recover, battling through small setbacks and another slight strain in the opposite leg.
It made for a long winter in the gym and on the rehab trail, and eventually the decision was made to wrap up his season early.
Garner will resume training in early December, shortly after the Utah trip is completed.

“Taylor’s injury is more to his hamstring tendon rather than the hamstring muscle. That means that the treatment will be a little different.” – Geoff Walsh
June 26 – Garnering a potential star – NMFC.com.au
“I saw this year as the chance for me to play more games obviously, but the injury has set me back a fair way. For the club to commit to me for another two years is great and gives me some confidence.”
