Dear North - Hall of Fame
Wednesday saw two North Melbourne icons inducted into the AFL Hall Of Fame bringing about tributes from fans.
kangaroos.com.au went to its social media arms, fan message boards and the media to highlight some of the sentiments in the aftermath of the one of the AFL’s night of nights.
Barry Cable

Love watching him in 70's, special player. All North Melbourne supporters should celebrate this overdue and special honour Barry Cable a legend at North Melbourne & now an VFL/AFL Legend.

Many fond memories of watching Barry Cable play for the @NorthKangaroos, a true legend.

Another Roos legend, top fella now on the top shelf, doesn't get any better than this #shinbonersbeproud

Cable is the most skillful footballer I have ever seen. Absolute freak. I grew up in Pascoe Vale and Cable could often be seen training on his own at Cole Reserve in Cumberland Road. As kids we would often play fetch for him and give him the ball back. In the days when players would train two nights a week Cable was always ahead of the rest in extra training time.
Warwick Green (Herald Sun)
Over his 18-year career with Perth, North Melbourne and East Perth, Cable would win eight premierships and 23 medals, including three Sandovers and eight club best-and-fairest awards. His record lacks nothing when compared with any footballer in the game's history.
Keith Greig (kangaroos.com.au)
"Some guys are ball watchers and ran to where the ball is, but others ran to where the ball is going to go - 'Cabes' had that instinct all his career. Sometimes you wondered why he was running to a certain spot but then you'd see the ball go there and he's got it and you're going forward again."
Glenn Archer

Well done to Glenn Archer on being inducted into the AFL Hall of Fame, champion player and even better bloke.

Couldn't be happier for @NorthKangaroos very own Glenn Archer. A man who gave everything he had to his footy club #loveyouarch
Nick Boylan (Facebook)
A true champion in every sense of the word-with the club, the fans, the media and most importantly, on the field. Embodies everything our club stands for. Congrats Arch, you are a true legend!
James Nunn (Facebook)
Good to see, Arch is a true shinboner, he will be the inspiration for current and future generations of loyalty and what it means to bleed for your club. It's bandied around a lot the word legend, but Arch, you are a true legend of the game, and of the North Melbourne Football club. Congratulations.
Sarah Keys (Facebook)
The epitome of shinboner spirit. Well done, Arch. There's nobody like you.

Congratulation Glenn - well deserved honour - it was always fantastic watching you play - you put everything you had into playing for our great club - thanks must go to Denis Pagan for not giving up on him and allowing him to play for Noble Park - what a loss that would have been - not only to North but the AFL as well.
