It’s been somewhat of a whirlwind year for Robbie Tarrant.
After just 39 games in seven seasons, the forward turned defender has arrived as an AFL player in 2015.
Perhaps the best sign of that was his brilliant performance against the Bulldogs on Sunday. Tarrant had 24 disposals, took 14 marks and rebounded from defensive 50 on seven occasions.
It was a performance that caught the eye of the coaches, with the number 25 awarded four votes for his efforts.
Tarrant was the only Kangaroo to receive votes, with the Bulldogs’ Marcus Bontempelli receiving a perfect 10, Mitch Wallis six and Lachie Hunter five.
It’s been a memorable few weeks for Tarrant. He signed a new four-year deal ahead of the clash against the Saints a fortnight ago and has played some of his best football since.
Overall, Todd Goldstein is way out in front on the North leaderboard with 73 votes, ahead of his nearest rivals Jack Ziebell (42 votes) and Ben Cunnington (38 votes).
Goldstein has dropped to fourth on the AFL leaderboard, with the Swans’ Josh Kennedy making a late surge and Fremantle’s Nat Fyfe still way out in front.
