Just days out from his upcoming tour of the West Indies, Ricky Ponting has elected to stop by Aegis Park and wish his beloved North Melbourne players all the best ahead of the 2012 season.

Scheduled for a morning visit on Friday, the former Australia cricket captain and Kangaroos’ number one ticket holder will also hold a media conference with Brent Harvey. Both have recently relinquished their respective captaincy duties and are likely to be quizzed about the changing nature of leadership in sport.

Some teams are opting for younger leaders with Harvey handing over to Andrew Swallow and Ponting stepping aside for Michael Clarke while the Melbourne Demons elected Jack Trengove and Jack Grimes to captain the club.

Ponting will also discuss the ongoing partnership between the Ricky Ponting Foundation and the North Melbourne Football Club and his thoughts on football in Hobart.
