Veteran North defender Scott Thompson has been charged with striking Jesse Hogan during the fourth quarter of Saturday’s loss to Melbourne.

Based on the video evidence and a medical report from Melbourne, Match Review Officer Michael Christian assessed the incident as careless conduct with low impact to the head.

The incident was classified as a $3,000 sanction, however Thompson can accept a $2,000 sanction with an early plea without appearing before the tribunal.
