Jy Simpkin is set to make a return to football at some level this weekend after overcoming an AC joint injury.

The talented young small forward was sidelined for six weeks after requiring surgery following North’s Round 8 match against Sydney at Etihad.

The 19-year-old was taken with pick 12 in the 2016 NAB Draft and has impressed since debuting in the season opener, playing in six of the Roos’ first eight matches.

Ben Jacobs could return this week following a knock to his lower leg a few weeks ago.
