Nick Larkey is set for some resistance to secure his place atop of the VFL goal-kicking charts.
The key-forward holds a three-goal buffer over Port Melbourne’s Jordan Lisle, with Box Hill forward Mitchell Lewis and Essendon goal-sneak Daniel Younan not far behind.
After a quiet few weeks, Larkey has been in tremendous form in the past fortnight, booting a combined eight goals against top-eight sides Footscray and Williamstown.
Despite his lead, the 20-year-old will need to continue his fine form in a fortnight due to this weekend’s bye, leaving him just one game to add to his current tally.
Port Melbourne’s final two games mirror that of North’s previous two, facing Williamstown and Footscray in its run home, with Lisle set to press his claim for top honours.
