North Director of Football Geoff Walsh says North forward Mason Wood is in “good spirits” despite being concussed in Saturday’s win over Essendon.
Wood took a courageous pack mark in the third quarter, but landed on his head and was stretchered off the ground.
He was assessed in the rooms on the day and taken to hospital for observation, before being discharged the same evening.
“Mason has pulled up quite well and is in good spirits today,” Walsh told NMFC.com.au on Monday.
“He was also able to take part in light training this morning. He will obviously be closely monitored over the coming days and required to go through the various concussion tests before any decision is made about his availability this weekend.
“There are obviously protocols in place for these concussion situations, and we’ll be following those throughout the week.”
North takes on Carlton this Saturday night at Etihad Stadium.
