Jim Krakouer was the first of three North Melbourne identities inducted into the club’s Hall of Fame on Friday night.
In eight seasons at Arden Street, Krakouer electrified crowds during 134 appearances in the royal blue and white.
The older Krakouer brother led the club’s goal kicking on three occasions, in 1983, 1986 and 1988.
Renowned for his incredible skill and speed, Krakouer won a Syd Barker Medal in 1986. He was named in North’s Team of the Century on the interchange bench.
From Mt Barker, Krakouer starred for Claremont in the late 1970’s and early 1980’s, before coming to North for the 1982 VFL season.
Jim, alongside his brother Phil, quickly became crowd favourites with their ability to turn a game with their freakish skills.
Jim kicked 229 goals for North, before ending his career with St Kilda.
