There was a buzz in the air on Friday at Etihad Stadium with months of hard work and dedication about to be put in to action.
North Melbourne took the opportunity to use its one training session of the year at its home ground ahead of Saturday night’s blockbuster against the Bombers.
"It's just a familiarisation really with the ground... and it's our home ground so we like to get out here as often as we can," Scott said.
All three emergencies were on the track, with Cruize Garlett, Luke Delaney and Levi Greenwood training strongly in the hope of a late call-up.
While it proved to be a light session with little contact, it was clear the focus of the players was on getting out there for the season opener and proving themselves as a force in 2012.
A bumper crowd is expected for the clash between the old rivals and the importance of getting off to a good start can’t be understated.
