The Match Review Panel has cleared Jack Ziebell for contact made with Hawk Sam Mitchell on Friday night.
Ziebell didn’t escape punishment from the MRP, however, with the vice-captain copping a $1,000 fine for his role in a first quarter melee.
Michael Firrito and Daniel Wells can also accept $1,000 fines for their involvement in first quarter melees.
All three are clear to play against Adelaide on Thursday night.
Ziebell’s hit on Mitchell garnered plenty of attention on the night, however the MRP said “it was the view of the panel that contact was primarily made to the upper chest area and there was no forceful high contact made to constitute a report”.

Other incidents assessed
Contact between North Melbourne’s Jack Ziebell and Hawthorn’s Sam Mitchell from the first quarter of Friday’s match was assessed. The panel said there was a quick kick from Hawthorn’s defensive area by Ben Stratton towards a group of players. Sam Mitchell prepared to mark the ball with Ziebell coming to the contest from the opposite direction. Mitchell took the mark and his opponent made contact to the front of the Hawthorn player.
After viewing all available vision and receiving a medical report from the Hawthorn Football Club, it was the view of the panel that contact was primarily made to the upper chest area and there was no insufficient forceful high contact made to constitute a report. No further action was taken
