At the end of each season, there is the obligatory discussion about who could take “Charlie” home. Footy fans stretch their memories back to games played several months prior in an effort to identify their club’s best chance at winning the coveted award.
This year NMFC.com.au is asking for your help to determine the three best players from each game and you can vote in the Mazda Spirit Awards for your best three Kangaroos.

Here is the case for each of the players in the running for the votes from North’s loss at the hands of the Western Bulldogs, in alphabetical order. We’ll pick our 3-2-1, then you can have your say.
Matthew Boyd – Bulldogs
The Bulldogs veteran was handed the responsibility of rebounding for his side and did so to great effect, with a 22-disposal game.
Jason Johannisen – Bulldogs
Johannisen was influential at critical times at Etihad Stadium, from his important goal in the third term to his 22 disposals and eight inside 50’s.
Jamie Macmillan – NMFC
In his 100th match, Macmillan had a team-high 30 disposals as well as six rebound 50’s, carrying the ball out of the defensive half on numerous occasions.
Scott Thompson – NMFC
Before the defender limped off with a groin injury on Saturday night, he had completely shut Jake Stringer out of the game, restricting the Bulldog to just seven disposals and no score through three quarters.
Easton Wood – Bulldogs
Playing off half-back, Wood was a wall to the tune of 10 marks, higher than any other player on the field. He also had 20 disposals at 80 per cent efficiency.
