North Melbourne made history on Saturday night with a 67-point win over Carlton.

The victory secured the club’s best start to a season.

With nine wins on the board and no losses, the Roos are flying and so too ruckman Todd Goldstein.

Up against Daniel Gorringe, ‘Goldy’ simply dominated according to the media.

The Herald Sun

“Right from the outset, Todd Goldstein showed exactly why he remains in the top-10 of Brownlow betting with a whopping 20 hitouts in the first term, including nine to advantage.

“Complete domination” was the only way former Hawk and Sun Campbell Brown could describe a third-quarter that included three goals from Goldstein – including two in a minute - who also rucked for just about the entire term.” – Lauren Wood

The Age

“Football can be a simple game when one team boasts the best ruckman in the league, and the Roos have this man in Goldstein. They dominated the clearances 15-9, including 7-0 at the centre bounce, in the first term, and this was pivotal in opening an early break the Blues were not able to breach.

“Goldstein, an All Australian last year, was superb by hand and when with ball, and added three goals to his name in the third term - one when he morphed into a speedy rover - to shut the door on any thoughts the Blues had of a revival.” – Jon Pierik

AAP

“Matched up against ex-Suns ruckman Daniel Gorringe, in his first game for Carlton, Todd Goldstein had a night to remember with 19 possessions, 45 hitouts and three goals.” – Jason Phelan

Also in fine form, the little master Brent Harvey.

The Age

“Where the Blues' veterans lacked impact, the same could not be said of Brent Harvey. In match 418, his pace and enthusiasm have not waned. Nor have his niggling tactics, for he found himself on the wrong end of what appeared to be a punch into the mid-riff by Gibbs in the first term - the pair having clashed minutes earlier.” – Jon Pierik

Also receiving some well earned praise was Robbie Tarrant. Some suggesting the defender is in All-Australian contention.

The Age

“The Roos would have been pleased with how Farren Ray, at his third club, fitted in, while Robbie Tarrant marshalled a defensive arc that, at times, was put under sustained pressure.” – Jon Pierik

Now the Roos will look to make it ten straight wins against Sydney but regardless of that result, this team has already made a name for itself.

“North Melbourne doesn’t seem to get enough credit for its start to the season.

“That’s 9-0 for the Roos now — the club’s best start to a ¬season in its 92 years.” – Matt Windley
