2001
- Petrie makes his debut in Round 1 v Essendon
- Plays nine games for the season, largely as a utility
2002
- Kicks his first career goal in Round 14 v St Kilda
- Plays his first final, taking his place in the Elimination Final v Melbourne
2003
- Polls his first Brownlow vote in Round 7 v Hawthorn, for a four-goal performance
2004
- Plays his 50th game in Round 9 v Melbourne
2006
- Plays his 100th game in Round 16 v Adelaide
- Registers a career-high 27 disposals in Round 17 v Geelong, also turns out to be his first three-vote Brownlow performance
2007
- Kicks seven goals in Glenn Archer’s 300th game, Round 13 v Bulldogs
2008
- Plays his 150th game in Round 19 v Bulldogs
- Also his first milestone win after losses in his debut, 50th and 100th games
2009
- Leads the club goal-kicking for the first time with 27
2010
- Only plays two games due to serious foot injuries
2011
- Becomes a full-time forward, leading the goal-kicking once again with 48
- Makes the All-Australian squad for the first time, named on the interchange
- From Round 2, starts a streak of 105 consecutive matches, the seventh longest in club history
2012
- Plays his 200th game in Round 1 v Essendon
- Kicks back-to-back hauls of seven goals in Round 16 and 17, career-highs
- Leading goal-kicker with 58
2013
- Plays 100 per cent game time for seven consecutive matches from Round 10 to 17
2014
- Plays his 250th game in Round 6 v Fremantle
- Leading goal-kicker with 50
2015
- Leading goal-kicker with 42, tied with Jarrad Waite
2016
- Becomes just the fifth Kangaroo to reach the 300-game milestone
