Majak Daw’s future is at Arden Street, with the Roos announcing an exciting new three-year deal for the emerging forward/ruckman.

Daw, who played nine games for the Roos in 2016, attracted interest from rival clubs, but said he had no interest in leaving.

“I’m really excited to sign another contract extension and remain at the Roos,” Daw told NMFC.com.au.

“I’ve been at North Melbourne since 2009 and couldn’t see myself playing anywhere else.

“The club has been great to me and so have the fans, who I think are definitely the most passionate in the AFL.”

North’s GM List Management Cameron Joyce said the club was delighted Daw had re-signed.

“Majak has a big future ahead of him at North,” Joyce said.

“His performances in the second half of the year, and in particular his four goal effort in the elimination final, showed what he is capable of.

“He has really made the most of his opportunities and the sky is the limit for him going forward.

“We know he will have a big impact in 2017 and beyond and he is certainly an important part of our club’s future.”

North has also re-signed forward Jarrad Waite and wingman Sam Gibson to one-year extensions.

“Jarrad will continue to provide experience and leadership in the forward line,” Joyce added.

“Sam’s run and spread is as good as anyone’s in the competition and his durability is another asset for us.

“We are rapt both players have re-committed for next season.”

Developing ruckman Braydon Preuss has accepted a two-year extension and has been elevated onto the primary list, while hard-running midfielder Will Fordham will remain on the rookie list after locking in a one year deal.
